Public Relations Case Study - Glass Recycling Road Show

Background

Our Brief was to promote a web-based learning resource called Glass Works, which is designed to encourage primary school children to recycle glass.

Programme

We recommended bringing the learning experience to life through the characters featured on the web site - Billy Bottle and Jenny Jar. We created a Glass Road Show that now tours the UK's primary schools supported by Billy and Jenny mascots.

The road show unit carries two computers running Glass Works. Teachers, with the help of our support staff, can take groups of children onto the unit and give them an opportunity to use the resource. Supporting materials in the form of leaflets, badges and balloons are provided to the children to reinforce the glass recycling message.

Results

Last year 15,000 children visited the road show and visits to the web site have doubled as a result.
