When the Recycling and Waste Management show merged with rival CIWM exhibition, the event organisers called on Pelican to explain the benefits of the expanded show to relevant industries.
Our recycling PR team embarked on a major digital communications campaign designed to maintain the reputation of the show within the waste management industry and build its profile in the retail and construction industries.
A combination of research, media relations and a specially-commissioned research project, generated a huge amount of press and digital coverage before the show. Our media relations expertise ensured a buzzing Press Office at the show, which drove extensive post-show editorial. Events such as a ‘recycled fashion’ show and speakers like eco-expert Jonathon Porritt also created good news hooks and plenty of content for Twitter.
The campaign was a resounding success, with 200 pieces of coverage, over 3 million opportunities to see and visitor numbers up by 38%.
