Our specialist outdoor PR team was called upon to launch the new range of Geigerrig hydration packs, which use a specially engineered hydration bladder and pressure bulb to spray water into the user’s mouth, providing a continuous and sanitary delivery of water – a real product USP
We decided to launch at the Outdoor Trade Show (OTS), the largest UK event for the outdoor industry. An intensive round of one-to-one journalist briefings were held on the stand with the product’s inventor Curt Geiger explaining the benefits of the pack first hand.
Following the show, samples were sent to key journalists and outdoor bloggers for testing. A highly effective media relations campaign targeted enthusiast outdoor magazines and national newspaper adventure and outdoor journalists.
Geigerrig scooped two prestigious industry awards at OTS for product innovation and technology. The media relations campaign helped boost sales of the hydration pack by achieving extensive national media coverage with a PR value over £100,000.
